Aventics offers customers individual products that make life easier

Custom, quick, and from a single source: The pneumatics specialist offers ready-to-install complete solutions. Whether a prototype for a new system or series control cabinets – the experts from Aventics are flexible. Customers benefit from short channels between project planning and production, in-depth product knowledge, and optimized logistics.


Laatzen, February 22, 2018 – “As a supplier to machine manufacturers, we are constantly forced to optimize costs, and unproductive set-up times are our greatest lever,” explains Jörg Schröder from Schröder GmbH. Hailing from Beckum in Germany, the company produces series and variant products from wood, composites, and plastic. In collaboration with Aventics, Schröder has cut down its set-up times significantly thanks to a new and unique pin table. Pneumatic cylinders extend within seconds, forming an inversion to the contours to be manufactured. Then, integrated vacuum suction cups fix the plate to be finished so the process can begin right away.

“Within a single month, we developed this extraordinary cylinder valve unit to run function and endurance tests,” states Alexander Minderlen, the Aventics employee responsible for this assembly on the developer side. Each of the 384 cylinder valve units on every table are equipped with an input and output, connected to the Schröder control software via a fieldbus. All that is needed to control and monitor an entire table is a four-wire cable. Thanks to the optimally sealed vacuum suction cups, the new pin table achieves better results with a much lower energy consumption.

System technology team provides support in control cabinet design

Companies can also benefit from Aventics engineering expertise when it comes to other challenges. “We are on a par with our customers,” explains David Wille, Head of System Request Management. “On the one hand, we are very familiar with the products in question, and on the other, we have the technical expertise required to understand customer applications.”

One classic example is the control cabinet. After customers provide a description of their tasks, the team plans the pneumatic control for the application and manufacturers the ready-to-install control cabinet with all components and connections. From a small switch box with basic functions to a complex switching center with all control options and PLC: The result is a tested system that is configured to handle specific functions and ready for immediate use – with customer-specific paint and labeling on request.

Even before delivery, customers can already ensure that systems perfectly fit their machines: Aventics supplies the CAD data in advance. “Today, tight spaces still present a challenge. But when we build overall systems, we can often surprise customers with solutions that can’t be realized using individual parts from the catalog.” Beside in-depth product knowledge, product modifications are key here. “We work closely with development and can therefore easily modify standard products as needed,” says Wille.

At the Hannover Messe 2018, experts will be available at Aventics booth C39 in hall 23 to discuss possible solutions and provide other useful information. The international industrial trade fair will take place from April 23 to 27, 2018, in Hanover under the banner “Integrated Industry – Connect & Collaborate”.
